Both of the AC teams need points from this match. AC Oulu has found form and are actually fighting still to earn promotion. They are currently 5th with 6 points behind HIFK for that important 2nd position.  AC Kajaani is without a win in several matches now and are one of three teams fighting to avoid relegation. They are currently 8th but JJK is only two points behind.

AC Oulu is on top of the form table with four wins and a draw in their last five games. They struggled with their away games early on in the season but have now won their last two away games. They are still much better at home with a 5-3-1 home record. Their only loss coming against FC Haka. The biggest difference for Oulu has been that they have found a way to score goals and with that, the wins have followed. They have not kept a clean sheet in ages but as long as they can score more than their opponent, its enough. AC Kajaani has been a tough opponent for Oulu. Kajaani won the first match 2-1 and in the second match in Oulu, Oulu led 2-0 before Kajaani came back to equalize 2-2.

AC Kajaani had a lot of problems with injuries last month and as they did not have much depth, the performance level dropped. Now they have gotten their main guys back and managed to get a 2-2 draw in their last game against big promotion favourite HIFK. The team is capable of scoring, but the defense usually concedes too many for them to take more points.
