This is a big game between two main promotion contenders. They are both also the top two teams in the standing on 14 points with HIFK just ahead with 1 goal difference.

HIFK were relegated from the Veikkausliiga after last season and they want to get back there on the first try. They have started the season really well with only 1 loss away from home against AC Oulu. That was though on Round two and since then they have won 3 and drawn 2. They have not really dominated their games but their basic play is strong and they find the ways to score one more than their opponent. In goals they rely heavily on Pekka Sihvola who has scored 50% of their goals so far this season. At least so far this season HIFK has been playing low scoring games with 2.29 goals in average.

KPV invested a lot again for this season trying to win promotion. So far they have had a nightmare of a season with injuries but still the team has had enough depth to earn 14 points from their opening 7 games. KPV is almost a copy of HIFK as they also have not dominated matches and have lost one game away from home (FC Haka 3-1). They also trust heavily in one player to score their goals, Kalle Multanen who has scored 5 out of their 9 goals. They are also an underish team so far this season with an average of 2.12 goals scored per game. Despite this, four out of their seven games have gone over 2.5 goals.
