This is the big match of the day. Veikkausliiga leaders HJK will host SJK for the first time this season. HJK still leads the league but they are struggling in scoring goals. Their last two games have ended 0-0 and even before that, their two wins against PS Kemi and Ilves have come with 1-0 and 2-0.  They create a lot of chances but Alfredo Morelos is the only one who scores goals. It has been over a month since anyone else than him has scored. He cannot score everytime so thus the 0-0 results. Defensively they have been solid as they have conceded only 5 goals in their opening 10 games. They control the game and they press high up the field so teams are struggling themselves to get even close to the HJK goal. SJK though has the players who can do that. HJK gets back important midfielder Moshtagh Yaghoubi who returns from injury having missed the last 3 games.

SJK had a very slow start to the season but it was expected as they changed the head coach and coaches so close to the beginning of the season. They are now undefeated in their last 4 games which is exactly the same amount of games that Mehmet Hetemaj has been able to play after he returned from injury. He brings so much experience into that midfield and calms the game down so other players can focus on things that create chances and score goals. They were struggling in their last game in the first half against IFK Mariehamn but in the 2nd half they were totally dominant and deserved to equalise. SJK will miss Aristote Mboma from this match with Johannes Laaksonen and Dani Hatakka are doubts. Elias Ahde has returned from loan and is available in this match.

The teams met 4 times last season with HJK winning the first 2 games in the league 2-1 and 2-3. Then SJK beat HJK in penalties in the Finnish Cup final before the last match in the league which ended 0-0 in Helsinki.

Starting line ups:
HJK: Dähne – Rafinha, Patronen, Jalasto, Pirinen – Mosa, Annan – Mensah, Atom, Onovo – Morelos
SJK: Aksalu – Hurme, Vales, Hradecky, Anton – Malolo, Hetemaj – Zeneli, Klinga, Ions – Ahde

Prediction:

Despite both struggling to score goals lately, that is not because of lack of trying. It is a matter of time when the ketchup bottle opens up and the scores start to flow. This could be that game. HJK especially looks like they are ready for a fight. HJK over 1.5 team goals
