The Veikkausliiga fixture list has not been kind on RoPS as this is already their 6th match this month whereas this is only the 4th match for TPS. RoPS has been mainly playing against teams who will play in Europe in July so they are “suffering” from it now. Well not sure can you call it suffering as the team has won all their games so far without conceding a single goal. TPS lost their opening two matches but managed to beat city rivals FC Inter in their last game a week ago.

TPS is a newly promoted team and despite having many talented players, most of them can be said of being “Ykkönen” level. Last season their best part was their defense but so far this season they have conceded far too many goals. The defensive mistakes that happened in Ykkönen are punished much harder in Veikkausliiga.

TPS has been put as the favourite here which must be because of the more rest they have gotten compared to RoPS and the long away trip that the northern man has had to do because there is no other reason for this. TPS did beat Inter but it was a derby game and Inter gave away several errors in that match. RoPS should not give up those errors as they are a much more organized team compared to Inter, despite being more tired.

RoPS has surprised everyone this season. Last season they were known as a good high-pressing and counter attacking team but now they have added ball possession into their game. They can do even 40 passes in their defense before starting an attack which is unheard of previously in Rovaniemi. They have a good combination of experience and talented youth. Okkonen, Muinonen and Taiwo provide the experience. Lingman, Lappalainen and Hyvärinen the youth. The team plays with high confidence and because of this everything is possible.

RoPS beat FC Lahti in their last match despite resting a few players in that match. It was not the typical RoPS as you could see some tiredness in there as FC Lahti came at them in the second half but their solid defense held very well. This will be a difficult match for them with the long travel distance and because this will be already their 5th match in the past two weeks.

Previous matches:

TPS team news:

They have some small knocks and Rasmus Holma is a doubt as he has not been able to train in their last two training session.

RoPS team news:

There should be more rotation again here but the only definite missing player is Juuso Hämäläinen.

Starting Line ups:

TPS: Viscosi – Rähmönen, Tenho, Friberg, Kinnunen – Blomqvist, Mckendry – Jakonen, Valakari, Sjöroos – Ääritalo
RoPS: Reguero – Taiwo, Geffrard, Väisänen, Hyvärinen – Wato, Okkonen – Muinonen, Lappalainen, Järvenpää – Ivanovski

This is a difficult match because RoPS has played so many games more but we just cannot see TPS as the favourite here. RoPS draw no bet is our pick.
