League leaders HJK will face in-form VPS at Helsinki tonight. HJK is on a 9-game unbeaten run (7W 2D) but their last two games have ended in a draw. VPS have found some form and some goals lately as they have won their last two games while scoring 7 goals in the process. VPS is currently 6th.

Those two draws for HJK came on their away games. At home they are looking for their fifth straight win. In those 4 winning matches they scored 12 and conceded only 2 goals (both against Honka). In their last game, they managed to get a draw against KuPS on the last minute with Amr Gamal´s goal. HJK now has 10 different players who have scored at least 1 goal this season. That is the highest amount in the league, together with RoPS. Even though HJK´s performances have not been as good as last season, the results have been. They are actually 1 point ahead of their points tally from last season after 16 games.

VPS struggled to scored goals in their first 13 games. In those 13 games, they scored 13 goals but now in their last two games, they have scored 7. Those 7 goals did come against a couple of the worst defenses in the league; IFK Mariehamn and FC Inter. Still they managed to do this before getting their top two goal scorers from last season Morrissey and Vahtera from injury. It seems that they have found a system to score goals even without two good strikers. In their last match against HJK, they played well in Vaasa. They could have been already 2-0 up by half time. Unfortunately they were only 1-0 up and HJK came in the second half to score two goals and win. Overall all though, VPS played well and will take that into their confidence in this match. They know they can challenge HJK this season.

Previous matches:

VPS 1-2 HJK (This season)
HJK 4-1 VPS (This season Cup)

HJK has a good record against VPS in Helsinki. The last time VPS won in Helsinki was in 2013. That is their only time in the last 23 years that they have gotten 3 points against HJK in Helsinki.

HJK team news:

HJK will miss their long term injured players Akseli Pelvas and Ville Jalasto. They will also be without Valtteri Vesiaho, Eetu Vertainen and Enoch Banza who are all with Finnish U19 national team. They will get back Riku Riski, Juha Pirinen and Anthony Annan.

VPS team news:

They will get some players back from injury so some changes might be in the line-up. Morrissey and Vahtera are both on the bench.

Starting Line ups:

HJK: Rudakov – O`Shaughnessy, Patronen, Obilor, Rafinha – Annan, Dahlström – Alho, Mosa, Mensah – Klauss
VPS: Meerits – Ojamaa, Lahti, Auvinen, Jama – Laatikainen, Voutilainen – Guner, Strandvall, Hakola – Douglas

HJK to win with both teams to score.
