HIFK is currently in the relegation play-out position as 11th and 6 points from safety. KuPS is 7th and 4 points from the Top-3. Both have this game in hand.

HIFK has only managed to get 2 wins so far but 7 draws show that most of the games have been tight. Defensively they have the tied 5th best record with only 22 goals conceded in 16 games. Offensively though only bottom club JJK has scored less goals. In their last game, they were unlucky not to beat RoPS in Rovaniemi. They were totally dominant in the first half and RoPS was lucky to score their first and second goals. If they can continue with the same intensity, they should be ok in this league. HIFK will miss Kristian Heinolainen, Tommi Vesala and Tuukka Andberg. Jani Bäckman returns for suspension and Fredrik Lassas has also returned to training but is still a doubt.

KuPS were in bad form but managed to get back to winning ways in the last round by defeating PS Kemi 3-0. Those 3 goals were scored in the first half and it was probably their best performance in a single half this season. In the second, they let PS Kemi get back into the game but their defense held. They have been a decent away team this season with a 3w, 3d, 2l record. KuPS will still miss their suspended players Gbolohan Salami and Solomon Duah. Tuomas Rannankari and Urho Nissilä are injured. Their new signing Petteri Pennanen is eligible to play.

This will be a return to the Telia 5G Arena (Former Sonera) for KuPS head coach Jani Honkavaara. He was the HIFK head coach for a long time until the middle of last season when he was sacked and Antti Muurinen took over. He knows the HIFK players very well.

The teams have met once this season with KuPS winning 2-1 at home. Last season the teams met 3 times with KuPS winning once at home and once at Helsinki. HIFK won once at home.

Starting line ups:
HIFK: Eriksson – Hänninen, A Lody, Kuusijärvi, Anyamele – Lassas, Väyrynen, Gela, Terävä – Forssell, Sihvola
KuPS: Virtanen – Nissinen, Boxall, Azubuike, Coulibaly – Reuben, Saxman – Niskanen, Savolainen, Purje – Mäkelä

Prediction:

Both teams have gotten their offense working in their recent games so both teams to score is our  pick.
