At the Veritas Stadium in Turku, will face two teams who  were thought at the beginning of the season to fight for Euro Cup positions.  SJK was even thought to be the biggest challenger of  HJK for the championship. Instead of that both teams are at the bottom of the league (Even though Inter won the cup). FC Inter is currently 8th and SJK right after one point behind. The teams have met earlier this season in Seinäjoki, where Inter won 0-1. This game is played on natural grass pitch. SJK plays on artificial turf, but they have been practicing this week on natural grass, specifically for this match.

This year’s Finnish Cup Champion FC Inter won on the previous round against FC Lahti with two Abdoulie Mansally goals. FC Lahti had not lost at home previously this season, so that victory was a great, but positive, surprise. In that match, Abdoulie Mansally also reached his own level. He came with a lot of expectations after last season from PS Kemi, but before that FC Lahti game he did not contribute much offensively. After the match, he said that Lahti was the first time this season in which he was allowed to concentrate on the attack without much defensive duties. This made all the difference and he might get chances like that also here.

Inter is a weird team this season as  they have been better away from home than at the Veritas stadium . They have been the league’s worst home team together with PS Kemi, with only five points (1V, 2Tp, 5Ta) in eight games. Inter has lost their last three home games against VPS, Honka and KuPS. Inter’s only home win has just come against  the league’s bottom club PS Kemi. The biggest problem has been the defense as they have kept only two clean sheets at home and one away from hom (SJK 0-1).

SJK is on a two gam winning streak. The last time they had won two matches in a row, it happened on September 2017. SJK’s new head coach Aleksei Eremenko Sr. has got the team to play a good defensive game that’s been good enough in recent games. They won at home against both RoPS and FC Lahti, as well as in the previous away match they got a good away point against a tough KuPS team. They have not bee that good away from home this season as the team has only one win and six points for eight away games. The only victory came over TPS and it was played on neutral ground. SJK´s game does not look good, but it’s effective. SJK has the potential to rise to at least into the top six in the league.
