Neither team is in good form at the moment. SJK has won only two of their last 10 games and are fighting to avoid relegation. FC Lahti has only won one of their last 10 games and they have lost four of their last five matches. They are already 11 points behind a Euro Cup place so they can forget playing in Europe next season.

SJK beat TPS in their last home game 1-0 but then lost on Monday to IFK Mariehamn 1-0 and are right back in the relegation fight. In that Mariehamn game though, SJK was all over them and only poor finishing prevented them from getting something. IFK only had a couple of chances in that match. SJK is a better home team though and they always have a chance to win there.

FC Lahti has had a split season. They played well until they lost their in-loan goalkeeper Aleksandr Vasyutin. When him and central defender Jovanovic left, Lahti lost a lot of leadership in their defense. After that, they were not that solid anymore. Even before those players left, Lahti offense had been poor. They cannot create proper chances and most of their efforts are long shots. When the defense cannot keep a clean sheet, then most likely Lahti will not win.

The matches between the teams are always low scoring. The last four games have ended in 1-0 wins for the home side.
