Veikkausliiga 29 August: Ilves vs IFK Mariehamn
Ilves vs IFK Mariehamn 18:30 Tammelan stadion, Tampere
Odds 1.74 – 3.40 – 4.50 – Bet NOW at RedKings
Ilves has gotten into some fine form despite selling their main striker Noubissi. They have gotten 13 points from their last five matches and are currently 5th. A win here would move them to 4th place and they would still have a game in hand on 3rd placed FC Honka who are now 4 points ahead. IFK Mariehamn is 1 point ahead of the relegation zone and in desperate need of points.
Ilves is still the only undefeated home team with a 5-6-0 record. They are though balancing with a very narrow squad. Ilves head coach Jarkko Wiss though has made it work. He has brought in some youngsters and they have played well. They have played really well considering that they do not have a proper striker at the moment. They used Lauri Ala-Myllymäki as striker in the last game and the talented player scored a great goal. He might not be a long term choice though as he is a midfielder by trade.
IFK Mariehamn have improved their defense of late but are still not winning games. Their last two matches have ended in draws. Their away from though is really bad. It is 1-3-8 this season. Only TPS has a worse away record in the Veikkausliiga.
IFKM 2-0 Ilves (This season)
The teams will play again on Sunday.
Ilves team news:
Ilves will be without goalkeeper Mika Hilander, long term injured Baba Mensah and Tiemoko Fofana. On top of this Tatu Miettunen and Mauro Severino are suspended. Martti Haukioja is with Serie A side Sassuolo on a trial.
IFK Mariehamn team news:
They will miss their top scorer Kangaskolkka who is suspended.
Starting Line ups:
Ilves: Luukkanen – Aspegren, Tomas, Tanska, Almen – Siira, Issa, Ala-Myllymäki, Rannankari – Järvinen, Tamminen
