RoPS signs Vahid Hambo

RoPS announced today that they have signed Finnish striker Vahid Hambo until the end of the season.

23-Year old Vahid Hambo was left without a team after SJK terminated his contract yesterday. RoPS was in need of a striker after Aleksandr Kokko got injured and Filip Ivanovski left the club. Hambo has been one of the most talented Finnish forwards for years already but his career has been affected by several injuries.

Hambo played with HJK as a youth player but moved to Italy and Sampdoria in 2012. He played with their primavera team but never made his debut in the Serie A. He returned to Finland in 2014 and to then Ykkönen team, Ilves. In January 2015 he moved to FC inter and after an amazing start, he signed with English Championship team Brighton & Hove Albion. He played with their U23 team but suffered many injuries during his time there and never managed to break into the first team. In the Veikkausliiga at Inter and SJK, Hambo has played in 28 games, scoring 7 goals. He has represented Finland at boy and youth level where he has scored 13 goals in 32 games.

The potential is definitely there. It is all about him staying fit and having a coach who believes in him. Toni Koskela could be that man.
