This is a first leg match of the UEFA Champions League 1st qualifying round.

The Finnish Champions HJK Helsinki is the big favourite in this match, but the Faroe Islands Champion Vikingur will not let the Finns win easily, at least not at home. In last year´s UCL qualifyiers, Vikingur first knocked out Kosovo Champions KF Trepca 89 Mitrovice 6-2 on aggregate. After that they got knocked out against Icelandic champions FH 1-3 on aggregate. HJK played in the Europa League qualifiers last season where they got knocked out on the 2nd qualifying round against Macedonian Shkendija 2-4.

Vikingur is currently on 3rd position in the Faroe Islands league Effodeild however they are already behind leaders Kí and HB who are 6 and 11 points ahead of them and who have played 1 game less than Vikingur. Vikingur line-up is mainly based on local players but they have a couple of good foreign players. Up front they have Nigerian Adeshina Lawal who was the top goalscorer last season in the Effodeild. Another forward is 24-year old Serbian Filip Dordevic. Despite his age, he has spent already 7 years on the islands. Their current top scorer is Moldovan international Andrian Cascaval. The defender has scored already 6 goals this season.

HJK leads the Veikkausliiga with 7 points ahead of RoPS. Even though they have won13 out of their 19 games, they have not dominated their matches the same way as they did last season, especially away from home. All their wins away from home have been with one goal. Last season they won 10 games away from home and nine of them were with more than 1 goal. They have missed Atomu Tanaka who was the type of player who could break down defensive walls. This season their wingers have not been hitting the target even though lately there might be some light at the end of the tunnel. Evans Mensah, who scored 8 goals last season, did nost score in his first 11 matches but has scored 4 times in the last 4 games.

HJK team news:

HJK is missing quite a few players here. Ville Jalasto, Daniel O´Shaughnessy and Juho Pirinen are all out. Because of this, they have called from their reserve team Klubi-04, Kevin Kouassivi-Benissan, to provide them with cover for the full back positions.

With HJK struggling a bit away from home to take big wins, Vikingur +1AH is the main pick.
