HJK signs Riku Riski

HJK announced today that they have signed Finnish international forward Riku Riski on a 2-year deal.

28-Year old Riski will be the replacement HJK has been searching for Atomu Tanaka. He moves to Helsinki from Norwegian club Odds BK.

Riku Riski made his debut in the Veikkausliiga when he was just 16-years old in 2006 with TPS Turku. He has played 82 matches in the Finnish top league scoring 17 goals.  After TPS, Riski moved to Polish club Widsew Lodz in 2010 from where he also moved out on loan to Swedish club Örebrö. Riski moved to Norway on loan in 2012 first to Honefoss and after that to big club Rosenborg in 2014. While in Rosenborg he was also loaned out to IFK Göteborg and Dundee United. Since 2016, Riski represented Norwegian Eliteserien club Odds BK.

Riku Riski has represented Finland on all youth national teams and he has been a part of the Finland mens national team setup since 2011 when he made his first appearance against Belgium.

Riski is very happy to return to Finland.

– It is great to come back to Finland and to HJK which will be a new opportunity to me. The HJK organisation is very professional and it has made a big impression on me. At “Klubi” I will be able to play for wins and titles. I cannot wait for the season to start.” said Riski.

– “We are naturally very excited about the contract with Riski. He is in his prime. He is very clever and fast player and we believe he will give our coaching staff more tools for a versatile offense.” Says HJK Football director Juho Rantala.

Riski will join the team immediately and will be available for the friendly game against FC Flora on Saturday.
