FF Jaro annouced yesterday that they have agreed a contract with greek midfielder Giorgos Katidis. He will arrive to Finland today and they are hopeful of signing him soon.
Giorgos Katidis will be one of the most talented players in Ykkönen this season if he signs a contract but he comes with a lot of baggage. When he was playing with AEK Athens, he was banned after he scored a goal and celebrated it with a nazi salute. FF Jaro is very aware of this and still wanted to give the player a chance.
Katidis was a graduate of Aris Thessaloniki and he made his debut there are the age of 17. Now 23, he has played several matches with the Greek youth national teams. He was the Greek captain for the U-19 side when they lost in 2012 the Euro final to Spain. He has also been the captain of their U-21 team. In 2012, Aris sold him to AEK Athens where he immediately made it to the starting line-up.
In 2013-14, Giorgos Katidis played in Serie B with Novara until he moved back to Greece and to Veria. He has also played in the Greek Super League with Levadiakos and his last team was in the Greek Football league, Panegialios.
Giorgos Katidis is 175cm tall and he can play in many roles in the midfield but usually he has played as an attacking midfielder.
