Finnish 1st Division Ykkönen 21 August: EIF vs KPV, TPS vs FC Haka and FF Jaro vs FC Jazz

Finnish 1st Division Ykkönen Sunday 21 August
EIF – KPV 18:30 Keskuskenttä, Tammisaari
Odds 2.54 – 3.40 – 2.60 – Great odds on Ykkönen at

After EIF sold their star player and striker Sasa Jovovic to KuPS their season has gone downhill. They have lost their last 4 games and they will need to improve quick as the relegation zone is closely approaching. EIF got some help from FC Inter who loaned a couple of players to them. Time will tell if they will be able to help. KPV has also been very inconsistent. After their great 2-1 win over leaders JJK, they lost 5-3 to KTP and drew 3-3 at home with FC Jazz. They are capable of scoring but their defense is just bad. Their number 1 goalkeeper though might be available for this match.

The teams have met twice this season and both matches were played in Kokkola with KPV winning both (2-0 and 3-2). KPV will be without Yankuba Ceesay and Matthew Mendy.

Starting line ups:
EIF: Murray – Ekström, Sairinen, Estlander, Dos Santos, Sevon, Isaksson, Akouokou, Kinda, Lindqvist, Aalto

KPV: Myllymäki – Myntti, Gustavsson, Rauhala, Mäki, Sipilä, Banner Jr, Bah, Tshibasu, Sirbiladze, Palosaari

This is a tricky match as we do not think EIF will lose this match but cannot back them to win either. Best bet here is yet again goals. Both teams can score many.

TPS – FC Haka 18:30 Paavo Nurmen Stadion, Turku
Odds 1.85 – 3.70 – 3.80 – Great odds on Ykkönen at

This is the big game of the round. TPS would take 1st position with a win but FC Haka does not want to give up on their promotion hopes yet. Haka is now 10 points behind and another loss here would definitely end any chances they had. A win though keeps things still alive.

TPS has been in really good form winning 4 of their last 5 games. FC Haka has only won once in their last 5 but they do have the players to play better especially now as Elias Ahde is there on loan from SJK.

The teams have met twice this season with both teams winning once 2-1 at Valkeakoski. Ilari Mettälä, Rasmus Holma and Jonni Peräaho are doubts for this game for TPS.

Starting line ups:
TPS: Forsman – Tenho, Kinnunen, Liespuu, Rähmönen – Virtanen, Blomqvist, Mohamed, Hyyrynen, Jakonen, Sjöroos

Haka: Immonen – Mäenpää, Tabe, Rantanen, Latosaari, Popovitch, Sarajärvi, Mäenpää, Mbachu, Ahde, Dudu

TPS is in good form but the odds are a bit too low for me. Will go with Haka to score over 1.5 goals here. TPS without Holma in defense is weaker.

FF Jaro – FC Jazz 18:30 Keskuskenttä, Pietarsaari
Odds 1.38 – 4.75 – 7.00 – Great odds on Ykkönen at

FF Jaro is slowly getting into form as they are unbeaten in last 4 games having won the last two. The change in head coach seems to have definitely helped. However it might be too little too late when it comes to promotion as they are already 12 points behind AC Oulu and TPS who are 2nd. For the relegation battle it definitely helps as they are no longer at that zone. FC Jazz though are and they are the favourite to go down. They also changed their head coach and they have won and drawn their last 2 games. They are though 11 points from safety so unless they go on a magical run, they are going down.

The teams have met only once this season with FC Jazz winning 3-4 in Pietarsaari. For this game Jaro will still miss Seth Paintsill and Johan Brunell is a doubt. Walter Moore though will be available.

Starting line ups:
Jaro: Öhberg – Moore, Bamba, Curinga, Maomba – Emet, Josue, Kronholm, Kula – Morin, Remesaho

Jazz: Pirhonen – Starck, Virtanen, Nurminen, Wirtz – Välilä, Mapoka, Sanchez, Junnila – Mäkelä, Lehtonen

Jaro lost Sergei Eremenko as he is close to signing with FC Basel but despite that loss Jaro should win this game. Jazz though has been improving and they should also be able to score in this game. Both teams to score.
