Roope Riski transfers to SJK Seinäjoki

Football Finland

SJK Seinäjoki got a big piece of its this season puzzle with Finnish international Roope Riski moving to the club permanently on a 2+1 year deal.

Roope Riski was on loan last season from Haugesund at SJK and was an instrumental piece in helping SJK win their first ever league title. He scored 8 goals in 13 matches and is now the front runner to win the top goalscorer award for this season. Riski had a contract with Norwegian club Haugesund and apparently this was the first time that SJK has ever paid a transfer fee on a player.

The former AC Cesena, Hönefoss and TPS player has already become a fan favourite with SJK and he was the number 1 transfer target.

The 23-year old forward scored 12 goals the previous season for Norwegian 1st division team Hønefoss BK. He moved to Haugesund in the Norwegian tippeligan in the start of last season but did not earn a starting 11 spot with the team.

He moved to SJK on loan at the end of last season and provided a key partnership with Liverpool loanee Allan on the road to their first Veikkausliiga title He is a clinical finisher who seems to be always on the right place. He has 77 appearances in the Veikkausliiga during his time with TPS Turku and has scored 32 goals. He also has made 2 appearances for Finland and scored 1 goal.

SJK will continue to strengthen their team as they are in need of more players especially at the defence.
